Job Description: Marine Technician

Now through Apr 28, then again starting Oct 29: 8am-6pm Tuesday through Friday & 10am-3pm Saturday. April 30 – Oct 27: 9am-6pm Monday through Friday. Some Saturdays are also required, and additional overtime is possible. We are closed some holidays. No vacation is allowed between April & September. Schedule is subject to seasonal changes.
Aqua Tech is open now (off-season) through April 28, 2012 Tues through Fri 8am to 6pm and Sat 10am to 3pm. Then during the boating season April 30 through Oct 27, 2012 we are open Mon through Fri 8am to 6pm and Sat 10am to 3pm. Please note that Aqua Tech closes for approximately one month each winter (starting around Dec 15).

Pay: Hourly + commission, amount depends on experience

Uniform requirement:
Aqua Tech Marine Services T-shirt and hat (supplied by Aqua Tech).
Dark blue or black mechanics pants. Work boots with steel toes & oil resistance.
Must maintain professional appearance.
Skills required:
Professional experience servicing outboard and/or stern drive engines on trailerable boats.
Proven repair efficiency; i.e. able to perform quality repairs near, at, or below flat rate time.
Certification by one or more marine engine manufacturer is preferred.
Forklift experience preferred.
Tools required:
All basic tools needed for marine engine repairs: hand tools, power tools, air tools, tool cart, personal safety equipment.
Employee is responsible for the insurance of all personal tools.
Special manufacturers’ tools, large equipment and expendables (greases, sanding discs, etc) are provided by Aqua Tech
Marine Services.
Duties:
Diagnose repairs needed and consult with Technical Manager.
Repair marine engines, mechanical & electrical systems as approved by customer. This includes reading and
understanding service manuals, research, parts removal, parts installation, labeling & organization of parts, etc.
Rig and install new marine engines & accessories as approved by customer.
Perform repairs with accuracy and high quality, in a timely manner, and according to the guidelines of Aqua Tech Marine
Services' Technical Manager and the manufacturer.
Write thorough notes on all actions performed on engines/systems.
Work independently, update supervisor on progress, and seek guidance when needed.
Follow company procedures, as instructed by Technical Manager and Business Manager.
Assist other employees as necessary.
Move boats with forklift before & after jobs, and other times when necessary.
Shop projects as required.
Regular cleaning of shop, as necessary.
Other tasks as necessary.
